Pastor Terrell

I’m Terrell Huntley—husband to Kemi, dad to Roman and Rory, and the lead pastor of UCity | The Church in Charlotte, NC. I started UCity in 2021, right after the world was trying to make sense of life post-COVID. Honestly, I was just trying to follow God’s lead, one step at a time, believing He could do something beautiful through raw faith and real people.

I’ve lived with a speech impediment my whole life, which has shaped how I see the world. It’s taught me the power of vulnerability—of showing up even when you feel unfinished. That message became the heart of my TED Talk, “Vulnerability Saves,” and it’s the heartbeat of everything I do. I believe God moves most through the places we’re tempted to hide.

I’m a Certified Life Coach, and over the years I’ve helped launch several nonprofit organizations. But my greatest passion is helping people step into the purpose God has already placed in them—especially when they can’t see it for themselves. I want people to know they don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. God does His best work with our whole selves—mess and all.

UCity is built around that idea: a church for people becoming, learning, healing, and discovering the life God has for them. And I’m honored to walk that out with a community that’s real, bold, and full of hope.
